You're right on with the Who, What, How approach as long as what and how are determined by researching what he market actually will buy rather than pushing for the topic the coach most wants to coach around. If the coach LISTENS closely to their market, they can easily find out what top challenges their prospects most want to solve and what desired outcomes they most want to achieve. Then the coach can create language and offers that are tailor made to that market and position themselves as an essential service for them. That's how they will attract a steady flow of clients. And guess what? The client is supposed to bring the agenda they want to coach around. Whatever is appropriate in the moment are the tools the coach will use (for example health coaching).

Hi Rhonda,

I commend your effort to help and clarify. Great stuff! I like the WHO / WHAT model, but often get confused on the WHAT.

What about a WHO, WHAT, HOW model?

Who - what reachable group who can be identified and who have a challenge they want solved (e.g. financial execs)

What - what challenge that audience faces (e.g.
overweight, tired)

How - how you will help them (e.g. health coaching)
