I agree with you on all points especially focus...So many entrepreneurs, coaches get sucked into a black hole on the information highway, Whew!! My daughter is a musician and she will obsesses and obsesses some more over her lyrics, her arrangement and whatever else musicians do and 6 months later it's unfinished and she has moved on to something else. I have told her time and time again a piece of art is never completed, you have to know when to let it go.
Great points. Continued success.

Hi Wendy. Congrats on staying the course. I know created a business is challenging, especially in this economy. But, you know, coaching schools aren't wrong. A coaching business is significantly easier to create than most other businesses. It takes relatively little infusion of cash and many coaches can have a financially successful biz in the first year -- which is unheard of in creating other types of businesses. The key comes down to two things: 1. Choose a VIABLE target market to champion. 2. Find out their top challenges and what solutions they'll invest in to solve. Then, build connections with those folks speaking their language and offering what they'll buy. Don't just try to sell coaching -- it's the toolbox you'll use to help people not what they'll buy. I can help if you'd like to get your foundation set quickly and have a focus that will go the distance. Check out my workshop starting 6/15 http://idealcoachingmarket.com

Jacqui - good for you that you chose a target market and are now making your website 100% relevant to exactly what they want from you. Keep learning from them. Do some informational interviews if you haven't already and hear their words about challenges and desired outcomes then put those things on you site.

Really needed the reminder that 'nothing is perfect'--"make it good enough and get it out there' as I am currently in the tedious and sometimes inspirational process of revamping my website to reflect my target market. So these words came at a pivotal time. Thank you!

Thanks Rhonda for a very insightful and inspirational blog. I'm nowhere near where I want to be but recognize where I have come from and where I am now. Before I started this journey I couldn't even stand up and talk in front of people. Now I'm getting practice in Toastmasters and have learned how to network. All I need to do now is to figure out my sales pitch and, it hasn't been easy. It's taken me about eight months to get to this point while working on the business full-time. Coaching schools tell me that coaching was sought after and it's easy to put together as a business, but have been giving out incorrect messages!
